Gin Recipe: A Spirit for the Adventurous

Jun 21st 2024

We absolutely love hearing from you—our incredible home distillers—about what you're creating. We joke about writing a recipe book, but let's be honest, we get a bit distracted with making copper whiskey stills and sharing stories (and whiskey) with family and friends. For now, though, we'll leave the book-writing to the experts and stick with what we do best—helping you craft your own liquid magic!

That said, here's a simple yet delicious gin recipe from one of our happy customers. Even those who aren’t usually gin fans (shocking, we know!) have enjoyed this one. Ready to break out of your usual spirit routine? Give it a try:

GIN RECIPE
Start with a standard sugar wash. Distill it 3 times to about 175 proof. On the 4th run, add the following botanicals:

  • 44 grams Juniper Berries
  • 20 grams Coriander
  • 4 grams Cinnamon Sticks
  • 4 grams Grains of Paradise (also known as Alligator Pepper!)
  • 2 grams Lemon Peel
  • 1 gram Orange Peel
  • 2 dashes Almond Extract
  • 1 pod Star Anise

"This yields an incredibly smooth and flavorful product."
— Satisfied Customer & Fellow Home Distiller

"I am so thirsty right now."
— Us, after writing this!

Of course, recipes like this are a fun way to experiment with flavors and find new combinations that surprise and delight. And while we’re busy handcrafting copper whiskey stills, we’d love to hear what you’ve been distilling! Who needs a book when we have you, our amazing home distillers, sharing recipes?

So, take a moment to send us a note about your favorite recipes—whether it's a surprising success or your go-to spirit technique. We want to hear it all!

Happy distilling, and remember, we’re always here for you. We may be hammering copper and dreaming up new recipes, but we always have time for our home-distilling community. Feel free to reach out via email or social media anytime. Cheers! ?
